His best feature is his temperament. His nickname is "Flash" because he is so laid back. People want to breed to him on this criteria alone.
What can I say about Hope's first born. I thought there was something wrong with him when he fell from his mother at birth. He had white on his body. I didn't expect white coming from his dam and sire that were both black. I realized at that point, that this breed was quite different from the Newfoundlands that I had always bred.
MacKenzie was named by my husband. He said he looked like Spuds MacKenzie and so the story goes. He has turned out to be quite loving and a joy. He sleeps nearby at night after getting his belly rub on the bed. He flies around the yard playing with everyone. I don't think he has ever disliked another person or dog. His feelings are hurt when other PWDs don't want to play. He doesn't care if they are male or female. I sometimes think he is only a PWD in body because he has the temperament of a Newfoundland. He is kind, gentle, lazy, and always in a great mood. Of course, he likes to play too, just as long as it isn't at nap time.
